San Fran Talks: The Journey from Slave to Cultivator

This week Derek shares a map of the spiritual journey from Exodus! We talked quite a bit about the “wilderness”, because many adults are arrested in this stage of the spiritual journey. (We’d argue that much religion or religious programs make it the pinnacle of spiritual life, but that’s another topic for another time!)

The six stages:

• • 1. Slavery (child “no different than a slave”)

    2. Deliverance

    3. Wilderness (transformative dark night)

    4. Crossing the Jordan (death and re-baptism)

    5. Occupying (the battle for possessing what was promised)

    6. Cultivation (the blessing of fully occupying land, at home with yourself, becoming a refuge for others)
